05.01.2026 to 09.01.2026 - The Directorate of Agri Business Development, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU), Coimbatore organized a three-month "TNAPEx – Food Tech Entrepreneur" Training Programme for 25 aspiring agri and food technology entrepreneurs.
The programme aimed to enhance entrepreneurial skills, technical knowledge and exposure to practical aspects of food technology–based enterprises.
As part of this programme, ABIS-Technology Business Incubator, TNAU, Coimbatore conducted training for the participants from 05.01.2026 to 09.01.2026
The training focused on proposal drafting, packaging and branding, exposure to incubation facilities, success stories of entrepreneurs, government schemes and hands-on practical training.

09.01.2026 - "National Startup day 2026" event conducted at ABIS-TBI,SISFS Centre,
TNAU, Coimbatore.
The Hon’ble Prime Minister of India announced 16th January, the founding day of Startup India, as the “National Startup Day”, to commemorate this occasion and promote the spirit of entrepreneurship, DPIIT encourages the celebration of National Startup Day across the country during the Start-Up India Innovation week every year between 09th to 16th January, 2026 across the country.
The ABIS-Technology Business Incubator is a Startup India Seed Fund Scheme Centre from 2022. So far 2040 applications were received through the Start-Up India Portal from across the Country. Out of this, 2000 applications were screened in 52 batches online. A total SISFS Fund of Rs.1.15 CR has been disbursed to Start-Ups.
In this regard, “National Start-Up Day 2026” event was celebrated at the Technology Business Incubator, Directorate of Agribusiness Development, TNAU, Coimbatore on 09.01.2026 to commemorate and promote the spirit of entrepreneurship

09.01.2026 - Thiru S. Ramadorai, Chairperson, Mission Karmayogi Bharat and Former CEO & MD, Tata Consultancy Services and Padma Bhushan awardee and Thiru. M. Rathinasamy, Chief Commissioner of Income Tax (Retd.), Government of India, visited ABIS – Technology Business Incubator - Product Promotional Centre (TIPPC), Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore.
During the visit, Sri.A.V.Gnanasambandam, Managing Director & CEO, ABIS-TBI, TNAU, Coimbatore briefed the activities, facilities, programmes operated under ABIS-TBI,TNAU,Coimbatore.



22.01.2026 - 75 farmers from Udumalpet Block, Tiruppur District, under the Tamil Nadu State Scheme Training on “Integrated Farming System,” visited ABIS-TBI. The farmers visited TIPPC and were exposed to various startup products.
Mr.A.V.Gnanasambandam, Managing Director & CEO, ABIS-TBI, TNAU, Coimbatore, briefed the farmers on the services offered to farmers and Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) operating through ABIS-TBI.

22.01.2026 -A total of 83 third-year B.Sc. (Hons.) students from the MIT College of Agriculture & Technology, Trichy visited ABIS–TBI, TNAU, Coimbatore.
During the visit, Mr. A. V. Gnanasambandam, Managing Director & CEO, ABIS–TBI, TNAU, Coimbatore, briefed the students on the various TBI programmes and initiatives. The students were also taken through the TBI Start-up Exhibition Hall and were introduced to various start-up products available at TIPPC.

23.01.2026 - Bharathiar University, Coimbatore organized a one-day workshop on “Awareness of Startups, Technology Transfer & Patent Commercialization” at the Seminar Hall, Department of Physics, Bharathiar University, Coimbatore.
As part of the workshop, Sri A. V. Gnanasambandam, Managing Director & CEO, ABIS–TBI, TNAU, Coimbatore, delivered a Technical session as a speaker. The session provided valuable insights into entrepreneurial development pathways, patent filing, technology commercialization and funding opportunities for aspiring entrepreneurs,students, faculty members and researchers.

24.01.2026 - 50 first-year undergraduate students from 13 different departments of KG College of Arts & Science, Coimbatore, along with two faculty members, visited ABIS-TBI, TIPPC, TNAU, Coimbatore.
Mr.A.V.Gnanasambandam, Managing Director & CEO ABIS,TBI,TNAU,Coimbatore briefed the TBI programmes offered. They were also exposed to TBI Start-Up Exhibition Hall and various startup products available at TIPPC to students.

27.01.2026 - 60 first-year B.Sc.(Hons) students from the Kumaraguru Institute of Agriculture (KIA), Erode, along with faculty members, visited ABIS-TBI, TNAU, Coimbatore.

They were also exposed to TBI Start-Up Exhibition Hall and various startup products showcased at TIPPC.

28.01.2026 - Mr.A.V.Gnanasambandam, MD & CEO, ABIS-TBI, TNAU, Coimbatore visited the facility of Mr.Thamarai Kannan of M/s.Infinite Inland Farmers Pvt Ltd., Vellode, TBI member and RKVY-RAFTAAR-R ABI Grantee to monitor the work progress pertaining to the RKVY RAFTAR-R ABI Grant disbursed.

28.01.2026 - Mr. A. V. Gnanasambandam, Managing Director & CEO of ABIS-TBI, TNAU, Coimbatore, visited the facility of Mr.W.Sundar, M/s 3 Circle Refreshments, Perundurai (TBI Member).

30.01.2026 - Prof.Kim Brooks, President and Dr.Pithviraj Balakrishnan, Associate Vice -President, DALHOUSIE University, Canada visited ABIS-TBI, DABD,TNAU,Coimbatore.
Dr.J.Ramalingam, Dean and Dr.K.M.Sellamuthu (Professor) from The Centre for Students Welfare,Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore co-ordinated the visit.
During the visit, Mr.A.V.Gnanasambandam, MD & CEO, ABIS-TBI, TNAU, Coimbatore explained the ABIS-TBI programmes operated, activities done and facilities for Start-ups.
They visited TBI Start-Up Exhibition Hall and TBI-TIPPC,TNAU,Coimbatore.
