About the Programme

ABIS-TBI, TNAU, Coimbatore is recognized as a Spices Incubation Centre funded by the Spices Board of India, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India (FY 2024–25).

The programme promotes innovation, value addition and commercialization in the spices sector, enabling startups to build scalable and market-ready spice-based products.

Funding Support
Grant support will be awarded to three high-potential spice startups, rigorously evaluated and selected by the Incubation Appraisal Committee (IAC).


Role of ABIS-TBI
ABIS-TBI acts as the implementing incubator and:
• Invites and screens applications
• Selects startups through IAC evaluation
• Provides mentoring and technical guidance
• Monitors progress and milestone achievement
• Facilitates fund disbursement

Analytical / Testing Equipment

A UV–Visible Spectrophotometer is used to analyze and measure the concentration of substances in a sample by detecting how much ultraviolet (UV) and visible light is absorbed by the sample.​
This equipment available in ABIS TBI Spices Incubation Centre to analysis various spice extracts to assess the quality and chemical properties. This will helps startups in conducting analytical tests, product development and quality evaluation of spice-based products.
