03.02.2026 - "RKVY-RAFTAAR Grant Disbursement Event"

ABIS-TBI is an RKVY-RAFTAAR-R-ABI Centre supported by the Government of India, Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, New Delhi. The RKVY-RAFTAAR-R-ABI grant disbursement function for SAIP Cohort V grantees was held at the ABIS-TBI-R-ABI Centre, TNAU, Coimbatore.

Dr. E. Somasundaram, Director (ABD) & Secretary, ABIS-TBI, TNAU, Coimbatore, and Sri. A. V. Gnanasambandam, MD & CEO, ABIS-TBI, TNAU, Coimbatore, presided over the function and distributed the grants.

A total grant amount of Rs.71.00 lakhs was disbursed as the first instalment to 20 SAIP Cohort V grantees.

06.02.2026 - Shri.Ashish Kumar Srivastava, I.F.S., Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Working Plan) and Former Joint Secretary (RKVY, CVO & PP), Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Government of India visited  ABIS-TBI, TNAU, Coimbatore.

During his visit, Mr. A.V.Gnanasambandam, MD & CEO, ABIS-TBI, TNAU, Coimbatore, explained the activities, facilities, services and programmes offered to start-ups at ABIS-TBI.

Shri. Ashish Kumar Srivastava, I.F.S., visited the TBI Start-up Exhibition Hall, PRAYAS SHALA (FAB LAB) and TBI-Inucbatee Product Promotional Centre, TNAU, Coimbatore.

09.02.2026 - 11 No.s of 1 st year Ph.D (Agricultural Extension) students from Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore along with Faculty visited ABIS-TBI, TNAU, Coimbatore.

Mr.A.V.Gnanasambandam, Managing Director & CEO ABIS-TBI, TNAU, Coimbatore handled a class on the "Agribusiness Opportunities for Start-Ups".

They were also exposed to TBI Start-Up Prototypes kept in the TBI Exhibition Hall, NIDHI PRAYAS SHALA and various Start-up products showcased for sale at TIPPC. 

11.02.2026 - TN - Department of Agriculture organized an event, "Millet Thiruvizha" at Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Anna Auditorium, Coimbatore.

During this event, 5 no.of TBI Startups were supported with stalls for showcasing their products to University officials, State Government officials, farmers and students.

Prof.Dr.K.Subrahmaniyan, respected  Acting Vice-Chancellor TNAU, Coimbatore visited the TBI stall and interacted with Start-ups.

13.02.2026 - The "TN-EDII-Skill Development Stakeholders Meeting" was held at the District Collectorate Complex, Coimbatore.  

Tmt.G.Latha, IAS, Commissioner of the Entrepreneurship Development and Innovation Institute - Tamil Nadu (EDII-TN) chaired and interacted with the TN-EDII- Skill Development Stakeholders.

During the meeting Sri.A.V.Gnanasambandam, Managing Director & CEO, ABIS-TBI, TNAU, Coimbatore & Dr.C.Muralidharan Professor (HRM), Directorate of Agribusiness Development, TNAU, Coimbatore attended the meeting.

Sri. A.V. Gnanasambandam, MD & CEO, ABIS-TBI, TNAU, Coimbatore, briefed the TBI activities and interacted with Tmt. G. Latha, IAS, Commissioner of EDII-TN, on how ABIS-TBI, as a pioneer Agri Business Incubator in the country, can mentor agri start-ups, support their growth and collaborate as a key stakeholder in TN-EDII programmes.

16.02.2026 - The Department of Agro Climate Research Centre under the Directorate of Crop Management, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore conducted a one day training programme on "Value addition on pulse and marketing avenues".

30 no.of trainees from Dharmapuri and Coimbatore Districts had visited TBI facilities as well as TBI Incubatee Product Promotion Centre (TIPPC), where they explored various startup products.

18.02.2026 - Sri Ramakrishna College of Arts & Science, Coimbatore (SRCAS), Science Club celebrated “National Science Day 2026 ”.

Sri A.V. Gnanasambandam, Managing Director & CEO, ABIS–TBI, TNAU, Coimbatore, was invited as the Chief Guest to inaugurate the event and for Prize Distribution Ceremony for the winners of "Science Fiesta ’26".

The programme was conducted successfully with enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members.

19.02.2026 - A total of 180 Final year UG Students along with 6 faculties from Avinashilingam Institute for Home Science and Higher Education for women, Coimbatore visited ABIS-TBI, DABD,TNAU, Coimbatore.

23.02.2026 - Sixty IInd year B.Tech (Agrl.Engineering) & B.Tech (Biotechnology) students along with 2 faculty members from Bannari Amman Institute of Technology visited ABIS-TBI,TNAU, Coimbatore.

The students visited TBI NIDHI PRAYAS SHALA facility as well as TBI Incubatee Product Promotion Centre (TIPPC), where they explored various startup products.

24.02.2026 - The "START-UP CONCLAVE & ORGANIC AGRI EXPO 2026" was held at Sakthi Institute of Information and Management Studies (SIIMS), Pollachi, Coimbatore in association with Vanavarayar Institute of Agriculture (VIA) & Kumaraguru Institute of Agriculture (KIA).

Dr.B.K.Krishnaraj Vanavarayar, President, SIIMS presided over the START-UP CONCLAVE & ORGANIC AGRI EXPO 2026".

Sri A.V. Gnanasambandam, Managing Director & CEO of ABIS-TBI, was invited as the Guest Speaker for the event and delivered a session titled “Navigating the Agri Business Ecosystem: Incubation, Funding Strategies and Market Entry for Agri-Tech Start-ups.”

Few of our TBI members participated in the “Organic Agri Expo 2026” by exhibiting and showcasing their products.

Government officials from various departments, Heads of Institutions, Industrialists, Farmers, Start-up founders & Students attended the event.

25.02.2026 - Seven no.of Students from GRG and PSGR Krishnammal College for Women, Coimbatore along with one faculty from GRG IGNITE,Gen NXT incubator, Coimbatore visited  ABIS-TBI,TNAU, Coimbatore.

The students visited TBI Incubatee Product Promotion Centre (TIPPC), where they explored various start-up products.

27.02.2026 - 25 no.of Women Trainees from PSGR Krishnammal College for Women, Coimbatore along with 2 faculty under the scheme "DSIR-Supported Skill satellite Centre Project - the Rural women Technology Park" visited ABIS-TBI,TNAU, Coimbatore.

The trainees visited the ABIS-TBI Exhibition Hall, PRAYAS SHALA (FAB LAB) and Food Packaging lab facilities in ABIS-TBI, TNAU, Coimbatore. 

27.02.2026 - 30 no.of the Germany Farmers visited ABIS-TBI,TNAU,Coimbatore.

During this visit Mr.A.V.Gnanasambandam, MD & CEO, ABIS-TBI, TNAU, Coimbatore explianed the ABIS-TBI Porgrammes operated, activities done, marketing opportunities from Agri & Allied sector products and facilities.

The German farmers  visited the ABIS TBI facilities as well as TBI-Incubatee Product Promotion Centre (TIPPC), where they explored various startup products in ABIS-TBI, TNAU,Coimbatore. 

Dr.N.Anandaraja, Ph.D., Professor & Head (Agrl. Extension), Training Division, Directorate of Extension Education ,TNAU, Coimbatore accompanied the visitors.

27.02.2026 - 15 no.of Sri Lankan Business Delegates visited ABIS-TBI, DABD, TNAU, Coimbatore.

During this visit, Dr.E.Somasundaram, Director, ABD, TNAU explained the activities of the Directorate of Agribusiness Development, TNAU, Coimbatore.
